2017 Acura TLX Awards

When you're trying to figure out your next sedan to help you get around the streets of the Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, and Aliso Viejo area, you have a lot to consider. While doing your research can be a helpful practice at showing you what the vehicle offers and what it's capable of while in motion, you don't really learn how others consider it. The 2017 Acura TLX is a popular sedan that we're always asked about at Norm Reeves Acura of Mission Viejo. Still, more often than not, drivers want to know about its awards and accolades. We'd be glad to show you so you can determine if you want to take the next step toward the 2017 Acura TLX.

Consumer Awards

When drivers are seeking out a vehicle's accolades, they tend to search different consumer review sites to see the differing opinions on the vehicle they're considering. Of course, some of these sights have reviews of vehicles that are through the roof, so they tend to give out specific awards or accolades based on the vehicle's overall strengths.

According to Consumer Guide®, the 2017 Acura TLX earned the Best Buy Award.¹ Consumer Guide® cites that this vehicle earned this coveted accolade because "TLX packs a classy interior, cutting-edge handling and safety features, and peppy performance into a nicely sized package."

Kelley Blue Book® is also a major resource for the safe consumer when it comes time to buy their next car. According to KBB, the Acura won the Best Luxury Brand for the 5-Year Cost to Own Award. ²The Acura TLX, along with a few other Acura models, earned this highly rated consumer award.

Acura TLX Safety Ratings

One of the major focus areas for drivers who are looking for the right car is the safety features. The Acura TLX is loaded with some great safety features like the Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ Body Structure that can help absorb the force of impact, and the advanced airbag system that knows how much to inflate the airbags based on the severity of the collision. Of course, there's also optional safety technology like the Collision Mitigation System™, which can help you avoid a collision altogether by using front sensors to detect the likelihood of an impact based on your speed and distance from the vehicle.

Still, when drivers want to be assured that the safety features are up to snuff, they usually check out the safety ratings. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is a government organization that tests the safety features of every new car that's put out onto the market. Through a variety of crash tests, they determine how safe the vehicle is by highlighting its strengths and weakness. According to the NHTSA, the 2017 Acura TLX earned the 5-Star Overall Safety Rating.³ This is the highest safety rating awarded by the NHTSA.
