2016 Acura RLX vs 2016 Infiniti Q70

Looking for a luxurious SUV? Then chances are you've considered the Acura RLX and the Infiniti Q70. While both of these vehicles feature high-quality designs and powerful engines, drivers across the Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and Aliso Viejo area are curious which model is right for them.

To help, we take a closer look at what features these vehicles have in common and which ones set them apart.

Acura RLX and Infiniti Q70 Engine Performance

While both the Acura RLX and the Infiniti Q70 come standard with a V6 engine paired with an automatic transmission, that's where the similarities start to end. For example, the 2016 RLX offers more standard torque at 272 lb-ft compared to just 270 lb-ft in the Infiniti Q70. On top of that, the front-wheel drive of the Acura RLX allows it to offer better fuel economy than the Infiniti Q70, which has rear-wheel drive.

Specifically, you'll find 20/31 city/highway mpg1 EPA-estimated fuel economy in the RLX and only 18/26 city/highway mpg in the Infiniti Q70.

Interior/Exterior Measurements

When you look at the 2016 Acura RLX next to the Infiniti Q70, you might notice that the Acura is actually 1.4 inches shorter than the Q70 (57.7 inches compared to 59.1). While that might not seem like a lot, it's pretty impressive considering that the Acura RLX also offers more second row legroom at 38.8 inches compared to 36.2 inches in the Q70. That's more than two and a half inches of additional legroom for your backseat passengers in the 2016 Acura RLX.

That kind of spacious comfort is a hallmark of luxury sedans, and the Acura RLX manages to deliver while also keeping the overall size of the vehicle relatively compact. Meanwhile, both cars offer a 14.9-cubic-foot trunk and seating for up to five passengers.

Technology Features

As far as technology goes, you'll find a collection of similar features in the Acura RLX and the Infiniti Q70 as well as most luxury sedans. You'll even find that the Acura and the Infiniti both offer their own version of car-connected system: AcuraLink® The Next Generation and Infiniti Connection™.

Both of these technology systems allow drivers to connect to their vehicle using your compatible smartphone. Benefits include remote door lock/unlock, maintenance reminder, and automatic emergency call if you're involved in a collision.

By now you've discovered why so many drivers are torn between the Acura RLX and the Infiniti Q70. Both of these sedans offer a number of exceptional features, but the real comparison comes when you get behind the wheel and drive one for yourself.
